I have spent the past 15 years researching and evaluating school improvement and reform. I love learning about what makes schools work. As a school board member I will use this knowledge and expertise to both hold our schools and our educators accountable, but also to communicate what is happening in our schools to our parents and community.
I work on projects providing research and evaluation to help improve schools in communities throughout the nation. I will use my knowledge and background in schooling to set high expectations and to hold our schools accountable. I have Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School. My work and education gives me knowledge and experience to dive deep into the data and understand what is happening in our schools.
I can also help make sure our school system is transparent for our parents and community. Our community makes a huge investment in our schools: through the taxes we pay, volunteer hours spent in our schools and support we give to the families in our community. Transparency is key to building and maintaining community support for our schools. I will make sure the data produced by our district is easily accessible and understandable.
